Using luminous geometry to light a scene
This lighting and rendering tutorial shows how to use luminous geometry to light the scene. It also uses the Lightdome during the second section to add additional illumination and reflections. In addition to the use of light panels, it also discusses how to create a glossy metallic paint type of setup.

This is terrific stuff. I’ve had 3 projects in the last 12 months in which the client has asked for a finish that is “glossy like car paint”. I faked it and it worked pretty well. This will give the tools to really make this work next time this comes up. I’m sure it will.
