Creating 3D objects for iBooks

Now you can add 3D to your iBooks projects. You’ll need a Mac, Apple’s new iBooks Author application (free from the Mac App Store) and the latest version of Design 3D CX, CXi or SE. You may have used Strata tools in the past to add 3D to PDF documents and web pages. This gives you a way to add 3D to iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch documents. So now you can show off your 3D skills everywhere!

I try to review some of the elementary polygon modeling concepts involved, but I also assume you are not totally new to polygon modeling and subdivision surfaces. This tutorial uses Design 3D 7's new template images and multi-edge bridging, but with a couple of adjustments could easily be done in CX 6.

Introduction to UV Mapping in CX 7, Part 4

In the earlier "Introduction to UV Mapping in CX 7" videos we built a box to a specified size, for which we already had a label built. In this video, we approach mapping the label to the box from the other direction: we build the box first, then we create a map to fit the box.
