Double walled geometry and bitmap projection

This tutorial shows how to create a label applied onto a cylindrical type object which has thickness. It helps to show how to prevent the label from being projected onto the inside of the object using UV mapping. Part of the exercise shows how to set up the label material so the bitmap applies predictably and with a specific size. This also helps to show how Design3D handles the creation of UVs for newly created polygons.

Project Component: Texturing and Rendering a Bar Stool

This tutorial textures and renders a modern bar stool type object. This includes setting up the environment, the materials of the bar stool (metals, anisotropy, glossy wood texture) and setting up glow panels for use in lighting. This is a follow up tutorial to the modeling of the bar stool.

Modeling a Spiral DNA Molecule

In this tutorial we will model a DNA molecule. There are several ways to do this; which approach you choose will depend upon the exact look you want to achieve: a twist, a spiral, a helix, etc. Here, I will demonstrate an "old school" spiral method that is very effective. Some other approaches may be a bit faster, but this one is very controlled, and also may introduce you to a modeling technique you will find helpful for other projects.
